A single mother of a 2-month-old baby among three other suspects arraigned in court over Kilimani house party murder.

The four suspects Alias Umar Kabir Kamara a Nigerian national,
Vera Osebe Omari, Diana Moraa and Annestine Mamuji Helmut were arraigned in
court over the death of an unknown man at Kings Distinction Apartment along
Batian lane off Argwings Kodhek road in Kilimani.

Vera Osembe Omari through lawyer Duncan Okach has pleaded
with the court to release her for the sake of the child who is in need of his
mother saying the 14 days sought by police are too many after corporal Philip
Bett attached at DCI Kilimani made the miscellaneous application in a bid to
allow him complete investigations.

“The respondents herein have been linked to the death
of an unknown African male adult which occurred on July 9,2021 as they organized
and participated in a house party held at house number 1302 within Kings
Distinction Apartment on the ground floor,” read the application.

According to the investigating officer, the deceased was
seen partying at the same house on July 8,2021 with the suspects and other
revelers.

Bett told the court that they need time to apprehend other revellers who fled the scene, record statements from people who witnessed the house party and saw the deceased alive before his death and arrest other associates who are still at large.

The revellers at large left behind KCZ002 Mercedez Benz, KBT333S
Mercedes Benz, and KDB900B Toyota Lexus cars. The officer told the court that
the owners are yet to be identified and traced from National Transport and Safety
Authority.

He further said the vehicles were towed to Kilimani Police Station
and have not been claimed to date.

Magistrate Jane Kamau allowed the application to detain the
suspects but reduced the days from 14 to 10. In her ruling, the magistrate said
she was satisfied by the reasons given by the police to detain the suspects.
