President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga will jointly tour the Mt Kenya region after the Court of Appeal has ruled on the BBI Appeal currently before it. This will be the first time Uhuru Kenyatta, as Head of State will be accompanied by the ODM leader in his Central Kenya backyard.

Individuals from both camps reveal to this publication President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour to Mt Kenya will be a continuation of his countrywide trips, to launch and unveil different government projects. Already, the president has been to Western, Nyanza, and Coast regions.

His Ukambani tour which was slated to start today up to June 8th has been postponed to a later date over Covid1-19 infections. After the Eastern region, the president will head to the Rift Valley and then North Eastern before winding up in Mt Kenya.

”Once the court makes its ruling, and we are crossing our fingers that it will be in our favour, the tours will start across Central Kenya. It is Raila who can beat Ruto in 2022 and Central Kenya is ready for him,” nominated MP Maina Kamanda told a local publication.

”It is the Court of Appeal ruling that is holding us back. We would have started the process to market Raila in Central Kenya aggressively by now, but we will hit the road from next month. Nobody will stop Raila from touring Central Kenya. Our people are very excited about a Raila presidency and looking at all factors, Raila is the man to beat in 2022,” he added.

Allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta have said the Jubilee Party leader is strongly convinced the former PM fits the bill, and is ahead of the pack on who is best fit to succeed him when his term elapses in 2022.

Last week, Appellate court President Daniel Musinga said the seven-judge-bench hearing the BBI appeal case will deliver its judgement on August 20, 2021.
