Mombasa’s Kongowea market up in flames


Hundreds of traders in Mombasa County are set to count losses after fire razed down their stalls in Kongowea market, Nyali Sub County.

According to video footage seen by K24 Digital, a huge inferno is seen consuming a wide section of the market as area residents and a section of traders watch helplessly.

Governor Ali Hassan Joho termed the incident as unfortunate and promised to
compensate the traders who lost their fortunes.

The cause of the then fire incident has remained a mystery to date.
