A man accused of stealing a food warmer table at a hotel in upper hill, Nairobi accused the officer who arrested him of assault.
Wilson Otieno said the cop knocked down his canine occasioning actual bodily harm.
The accused told Kibera senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua on Friday that he was in pain. He asked the court to allow him get medication.
“I am in pain, just check my upper tooth,” he told the court before he was ordered to put on his mask as a Covid-19 precaution.
Otieno is accused of committing the offence on April 14 jointly with others not before the court.
The charge sheet says that he stole the property of Chalo Mwongela, worth Sh60,000.
The complainant report says that the accused person was spotted by the watchman carrying the said table on a handcart.
Police say that the accused person allegedly sold the table to a scrap metal businessman at Sh15,000.
Mutua directed that the accused person be taken to the hospital and be brought back to the court on Monday for further directions.
