Matungu residents in Kakamega County gathered in the various polling stations in the Constituency Thursday morning to elect their new MP.
In what is dubbed as a political contest between ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga and ANC Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi, the voting exercise is going on without hitches amid claims of voter bribery and favoritism.
ODM has fronted former MP David Were who will face off another 14 candidates among them his main competitor ANC candidate Peter Nabulindo.
ANC is banking on the political know how of the constituency of Senator Cleophas Malala who served as an MCA initially.

There is a heavy contingent of anti-riot police officers at the tallying Center in Bulimbo Primary School as well as other polling stations across the County.
The police were at hand to intervene after a brief confrontation between Malala and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna as well as Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga.
Were is expected to cast his vote at Lubanga Primary at around 10am.
