President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has trained its guns on DP William Ruto and his allies, who have been associated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). The ruling outfit plots to punish Ruto and his allies over what they term as open defiance towards President Uhuru and his regime. Uhuru Kenyatta is the Jubilee Party leader.
A number of senior officials in the ruling outfit, including the party’s vice Chairman David Murathe, now insist the wayward members of the must be expelled from the outfit for fronting candidates against the party which has sponsored them to Parliament.
”Even though the DP’s team insists that UDA, formerly known as the Party of Development and Reforms (PDR), is part of the ruling coalition — courtesy of a pre-election deal, Jubilee Vice-Chairman David Murathe insists it’s illegal for it to front candidates in the March by-elections,” a report in the Daily Nation on Friday reads in part.
Murathe, who has fallen out with the DP Ruto faction has written a ”show cause” letter to rebel party members, warning them of impending an disciplinary action.
”Those leaders pushing for the UDA agenda, including the DP, will lose their seats. Things are cooking. Just wait,” Mr Murathe said on Thursday.
