Two goals within a minute early in the first half propelled debutants Central Africa Republic (CAR) to the quarter finals of the Africa Cup of nations Under 20 championship in Mauritania.
Central Africa Republic beat Tunisia 2-1 in their last group B match at the Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott on Sunday.
The result saw CAR finish second in Group B with five points while Tunisia who came into the match top of the pile finish third with four points and will have to wait for Monday’s results from Group C to know whether they go through as one of the two best third placed teams.
Alfred Gombe Fei and skipper Raphael Marc Yapende scored within a minute with Tunisia’s consolation coming off the spot from captain Chiheb Labidi.

Central Africa Republic awaits its last eight opponent ahead of today’s last group D matches. Cameroon, Uganda and Burkina Faso are the other sides that have already secured quarter final berths.
In another Group B game Burkina Faso beat Namibia 1-0 to finish top of the group on seven points. Substitute Jean Kouame scored the winner in stoppage time to eliminate debutantes Namibia.
Burkina Faso will face Uganda in the quarter final on Thursday.
