Preparations for Valentine’s weekend have lightened up the hospitality industry with numerous bookings and events lined up.
PrideInn hotels have so far made room for merrymakers with a 70% jump in bookings for valentine’s weekend.
“We’ve received a 70% increase in Valentine’s day bookings. As per our internal data insights, couples account for the maximum share of bookings on 14th February followed by families and groups of friends celebrating this long weekend. We have also received a significant number of individual bookings,” Said Ann Peggy, General Manager for PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort.
Valentine’s Day is one of the highest grossing commercial occasion in Kenya and other countries in the world, with Kenyans spending heavily on flowers and jewelries for their significant.

“Food continues to be a safe way to people’s hearts, we are hopeful that spend in restaurants will continue to increase for Valentine’s Day this year,” added Ann.
Despite the Covid-19 Pandemic, Kenyans are going over and above the usual orthodox favours to make their partners happy on Valentine’s day.
Industry players expect occupancy for most beach hotels, cottages, villas, budget hotels, apartments and other accommodation facilities to reach 90 per cent this weekend.
“The trending thing is that locals are keeping pace with global tendencies and favoring experiences over conventional gifts. It’s clear that young adults and young generation values the opportunity to create a shared experience,” said Ann Peggy.
