Parliament to consider suspending sittings amid COVID-19

The National Assembly has adjusted its sittings for the fifth session after resuming from the long Christmas break Tuesday.

Morning and afternoon sittings that used to take place every Wednesday will remain suspended starting from 17th February.

There shall be two sittings every Tuesday, the first one taking place  2.30PM and end 6.30PM, MPs will then get a 30 minutes break in readiness for the second sitting that will commence at 7.00PM and end at 9.00PM.

On Thursdays, the first sittings will start at 10.00AM and end at 1.00PM.

Another sittings are scheduled for 2.30PM to 6.30PM, with the last sitting will start at 7.00PM and end at 9.00PM.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020, Parliament was forced to adjust its calendar severally in adherence to the COVID-19 protocols.
